Motorworld
Munich

A former steam engine repair hall was transformed into Motorworld München, a showroom for classic and sports cars. The building work included an underground car park and technical installations under the entire site (approx. 25,000 sqm), as well as rising components within an existing factory building. The five rising components are combined as follows to form an overall concept: event, conference/meeting rooms/fitness studio, hotel, service hotel and retail.

Since all the buildings were built inside the existing hall, it was not possible to use tower cranes due to the renovated roof, so the entire construction was carried out with telescopic forklifts and mobile mini-cranes. Handheld plastic formwork was also used as the buildings had to reach up to the existing roof structure. Furthermore, the complete infrastructure (underground pipes, trenching) was installed during construction.

In addition, an adjacent existing building was converted into a Drivers & Business Club.
