Palm Wörth

Palm Paper Mill GmbH & Co.KG constructed waste incineration plant 2 and an open-air waste paper storage facility with a pulping building on its factory premises in Wörth, as well as extending the railway tracks for the delivery of waste paper and reject material.

For the combined heat and power plant, we constructed an approximately 40 m high stair tower with an elevator using slipform construction. Adjacent to this, office and technical levels were built as precast reinforced concrete structures and in cast-in-place concrete.
The residue storage facility, constructed in elaborate cast-in-place concrete, features two 5 m deep hoppers, several intermediate levels, and two 12.50 m high storage bunkers. As well as conveyor technology areas and transformer rooms with walls up to 16.50 m high. A precast concrete structure was erected on the base structure from 12.50 m, reaching a height of 23.30 m.
Additionally, the scope of work included the construction of the “Pulper 3” building as a precast reinforced concrete structure.
Furthermore, the existing railway system at the plant was extended by a total length of approximately 800 m, including 3 loading and unloading tracks. Other ancillary components, such as supports for roofing, HiKo foundations, protective concrete slabs, various foundations for track lighting, fire extinguishing masts, conveyor bridges, etc., and floor slabs were also constructed.
Finally, for the infrastructure, traffic areas and an outdoor waste paper storage facility covering over 30,000 m² of asphalt surfaces were built. Several kilometers of ground pipes, empty electrical conduit routes, sewage, rainwater, and process wastewater channels, sprinkler and fire extinguishing lines, and high-voltage power lines were laid. This scope of work, including all earthworks, was executed in close cooperation between the building construction and our own civil engineering departments.
